Dr. Leonarda Francesca Liotta is Director of Research and Deputy Director in Palermo of the branch of the Institute for the Study of Nanostructured Materials (ISMN)-CNR. She is also member of the Scientific Board of the CNR Department of Chemical Sciences and Materials Technologies, DSCTM-CNR.
Leonarda Liotta is co-author of 270 articles in peer-reviewed internal journals and book chapters and contributed to more than 500 International and National Conferences and informative works (H index 56, Scopus 2025). She participated to several COST Actions in the field of Environmental depollution and Energy production, such as CA17136 “Indoor Air Pollution network” and CA 18224 “Green Chemical Engineering Network towards upscaling sustainable processes” and she is leader of the WG3 “Air cleaning solutions for gaseous contaminants” of the CA23139 - Network for Indoor Air Cleaning (Net4CleanAir).
Leonarda Liotta is Member of the Italian Chemical Society, in the Industrial Chemistry Group and Interdivisional Catalysis Group. She is in the Scientific board of the Italian ENERCHEM “Interdivisional Group of Chemistry for Renewable Energy” and she was in the Scientific Board of the Interdivisional Catalysis Group.
Leonarda Liotta was visiting researcher at the University of Lyon, Lille, Dunkirk, Sorbonne Paris, Valencia, Sevilla, Budapest, Sofia, Tosmk State University, Magurele.
Her main interests are in the field of heterogeneous catalysis (supported noble metals, especially Au, transition metal oxides and inorganic perovskites) and materials science applied to Environmental Remediation (NO SCR, VOCs and soot oxidation) and Clean Energy production (dry/steam reforming, CO2 methanation, SOFCs, SOECs).
